It is a collection of stories and reportages published in 1984 by the Kontra publishing house in London, which Józef Mackiewicz had previously published in the émigré press, including in “Wiadomości” and the newspaper “Lviv and Vilnius” run by his brother – Stanisław Cat-Mackiewicz. The choice of texts was made by Tadeusz Kadenacy, the preface was written by Barbara Toporska, Mackiewicz’s wife.
